COGNITIA is annual technical festival of National Institute of Technology , Meghalaya The festival was originally known as 'TECHFEST' which gave the generic name to college festivals in India. It was later re-christened to Cognitia in 2013. Cognitia literally meaning the 'I think therefore I am' is a celebration of the creative spirit and youthful energy inherent in the country's college students. This time it's a whole new game, it's not about the victors or the vanquished, it' not about glory or defeat. It' about conquering your demons, it' about upping yourself, it' about the quest for excellence. Techfest has gradually diversified into an organisation that apart from showcasing the pinnacle of technical advancement strives for betterment of the society by developing an inclination of youth populace towards the current social issues through unique initiatives.this organisation working on a non-profit basis.
National Institute Of Technology, Meghalaya has taken an initiative of collaboration between North Eastern Indira Gandhi Institute Of Health And Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) and North Eastern Hill University(NEHU) to bring the Engineering Science and Medical Fraternity into a common platform.
